Boat of the Year
Every year Sailing world Magazine names the boat of the year. This year the best crossover was a Beneteau First 30. It was said to be great for weeknight races and family outing. I personally didn't agree with their choice because of the overall design. It is a thirty foot boat with a tiller and dual rudder system. Personally I would like to see a sleeker design as it looks sort of boxy and a wheel instead of tiller would be much better because this is a thirty foot boat and it would increase handling. As for the inside of the boat I really think they nailed it with a v berth and a fully inclosed head. These two features really add a nice touch some 30 foot boats don't have.

Joe, I like all those red stripes on the boat and sails! What is your boat of the year? You may not like the look and want to steer it like your car, but I have helmed a J-30 and J-33 with tiller and they were fine. The twin rudders are on there to manage the wide boat with a lot of heel. The width also opens up the in side for more room than you usually find on a cruiser at just 30 feet. Welcome to blogging.
